The volume contains Bibliography which includes more than 300 names of research works, publications and archive materials. I t contains articles, books by experts in the study of Northern peoples who have various speciali- ties and worked or are working in different countries. First of all, mention should be made of the works by Mattias Castren, Toivo Lehtisalo, Zinaida Kupriyanova, Anna Shcherbakova, Natalia Tereshchenko, Vladimir Vasilyev, Yevgeny Khelimsky and Lyudmila Khomich who studied the Nenets lan- guage, folklore and ethnography as well as books by Vladimir Propp, Boris Putilov, Yeleazar Meletinsky and Victor Zhirmunsky who put theoretical and methodological questions of the study of folklore, specifically folklore of the peoples of Siberia. While analysing the texts, the authors used research works of their colleagues — experts in the study of Northern peoples who study contiguous and distant peoples. The works of Nenets researchers, such as Lidia Bobrilcova, Leonid Lar, Lyubov Nenyang, Valentina Nyarui, Alexei Pich- kov, Anton Pyrerka, Yelena Susoi and Ivan Yadne, promoted the understan- ding of the nature of folklore and the world outlook of the Nenets people. The compact dislc enclosed demonstrates the most interesting samples of Nenets folklore performing, collected by I. Bogdanov, Ye. Pushkareva, L. Kho­ mich and P. Borsoyeva.
